What is fashion? When we hear about this word, we often think about clothes or attire.

 Fashion is a form of self-expression and autonomy at a particular period and place and in a specific context of clothing, footwear, lifestyle, accessory, makeup, hairstyle and body posture.  Fashion is more of a personal concept than a general idea. 

How a person defines fashion can be entirely different from how another person defines it. But we can all generally agree that fashion embeds modesty at an individual level.

So we end up asking ourselves, what is the meaning of fashion? Is it a general concept or is it individual?

 Well fashion can mean as we all know, a modern form of dressing or lifestyle.
 Basically it can also mean an individual’s way of doing something.

 An important thing to note is that, fashion doesn’t have to be modern, but rather one’s own perception towards it.

Most often than not we do copy the fashion of famous celebrities, one such celebrity known for his sense of fashion is Kanye West. Since most fashion(ists) cannot live the same life as Kanye does, they often just replicate his dressing code. Well the reason for this, according to them is to appear modest. Other reasons might include impressing the public or simply to chase clout, {no offense}

Fashion as I have said is an individual concept, therefore fashion is defined from an individual’s point of view. 

For instance, a person can decide to put on hides and skin as a mode of dressing and term it fashion. Not all people are going to concur with the individual but that’s their point of view, they might change or not depending on the perception of their own fashion.

Fashion trends are influenced by several factors, including cinema, celebrities, climate, creative explorations, innovations, designs, political, social, economical and technological.

 Fashion forecasters can use this information to help determine the growth or decline of a particular trend. Fashion is inherently a social phenomenon.

 For something to be defined as fashion there must be dissemination by followers.
Generally, fashion is an individual aspect yet a social phenomenon. This means that fashion is created by an individual being but to attain the full definition of fashion itself it has to be disseminated by the public, yes not all people will conform to a certain fashion but a substantial amount of people will and that is what is needed in the fashion industry.
