2019 October a fellow schoolmate named Michelle went out to party and was picked up 2 weeks later in Karatina dead.Mid 2020 3 known washwash dealers disappeard and their bodies were later dumped somewhere.August 21st 2020 Kevin Omwengo was shot at close range in his own living room.April 19th 2021 four friends went to have nyama choma in Kitengela when they were kidnapped and now their bodies are being picked up in river banks & thickets

These are people who lived in posh apartments in Kilimani,drank expensive brands of alchohol,threw state of  the art parties,drove audis,subarus & porsche panarema for Omwenga's case.They wore expensive suits and walked with slim Macbooks,held meetings in Java and Art-cafe all in attempt to con hardworking kenyans except for Michelle's case who tried to be the smart one in the risky pussy-preneurship enterprise.

I call this the "kuomoka" nonsense pressure.We have heard so much about chasing the bag that we are willing to push ourselves beyond the limit.We want to drive ferrari's and G-Wagons straight from CMC without paying the price.We want to sleep broke and wake up balling.We want to live the life of Jay-z & kadarshians without hardwork.

We have prioritized instagram lifestyle and now we classify ourselves as "PHD" holders from the school of life.street geniuses.we run around setting vapid standards and  when we ourselves can't meet them we turn to shortcuts and "pap"

Life is the greatest asset you could have.2 years of wearing fancy clothes,drinking Remy martins,road trips in subarus etc isn't worth 40 years of average honest lifestyle.shortcuts lead to fast money and fast grave and when you will be burried young the only legacy left behind would be he is was a party animal

Everything is gradual.Your parents,my parents gave us good steady lives without taking shortcuts.its a choice though you can try or keep up with the shortcuts and we will collect your body at city mortuary marked unidentified.

Unwritten Elegy

 By Kevin kogo           A young man was buried today in our village.  He lived by the famous sword and died on the surgical table.  His eulogy was short with half the pages filled with hymns.  Birth, Christianity, death. Three paragraphs summarized his 31-year story.  His father didn't attend the burial; his uncles came wearing long coats and gumboots.  His mother, burying the second child, seemed defeated, maybe sorry, not sad.  There were no speeches, just lectures and warnings.  The sermon was hurried up; the pastor had other events scheduled.  The soil was red and wet, the casket quite light, and the framed picture too grainy.  His friends dug the grave, and his friends filled it up.  His siblings stood longer by the grave.  There were no flowers.  His chapter had ended, and he didn't need roses, a public address system, or eulogies ... just rest.
